August 13 - Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.
Prompt Response: Back in middle school, I was friends with this girl. We were friends for about 6 years, until she decided to let jealousy get in the way of our friendship. It was kind of heartbreaking because she just completely stopped talking to me and I was confused because I didn't know what I had done until one of our mutuals explained what she had been telling everyone. According to her, I didn't talk to her as much anymore because my new friends were distracting me from actually talking to her. I understand why she might've felt like that, since we had different classes and only saw each other in the halls, but she could've talked to me about how she felt instead of throwing it all away. Even then, I still had the right to have as many friends as I wanted and talk to whoever I wanted. She wasn't very social with other people either. Her friend group only consisted of 3 people, including me. I might sound evil saying this, but the more I think about it now, I'm kind of glad we stopped being friends because her reasoning was a little toxic.
Summary: Today in class, we read "The Jealous Father" and worked in groups.
