August 27 - Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?
Prompt Response: I'd say my mind is like a train station. Thoughts come and go on different tracks. Each one of these thoughts come at different speed rates. Some come fast, others come slow, and others rush in unexpectedly. There's a constant flow of passengers. Passengers represent memories, emotions, and thoughts, and each one is waiting for the right train. Sometimes, it can get too crowded. That's when I have a lot going on in my head. So I have to sort things out. I have to figure out what might have to come first and what might have to wait.
Summary: Today in class, we read two of Emily Dickinson's poems.
Reflection: In class I was given advice on how to let someone go and leave the past behind.
