December 3 - In “I, Too,” the speaker expresses pride in his identity and his rightful place in America. Reflect on your own life: What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?
Prompt Response: Growing up, I was always surrounded by relatives, neighbors, and friends who supported one another, whether it was through sharing food, celebrating holidays together, or just showing up when someone needed help. It made me feel like I was part of something bigger than myself. I think this has shaped who I am because it taught me the importance of kindness and staying connected to the people around me. Even when things get stressful with school or life, I know I have a strong support system behind me. It also makes me proud because it reminds me of where I come from and the traditions that have been passed down through my family. It’s a part of my identity that I’ll always carry with me.
Summary: Today in class, we read a new poem
Reflection: Today I learned about finding who I really am.
